Warmer weather is on the way and so are some of the best activities: driving with the windows down, wearing flip flops and drinking iced coffee. Make sure you're prepared for the best time of the year. Stock up on sandals and make sure your car windows are functioning properly after the frigid winter conditions - and don't forget to fill your ice tray.

Sure, you could just brew regular coffee, store it in the fridge for a while and get a great tasting cold beverage. But why not try something even cooler to ring in iced coffee season? Take a shot on these easy concoctions for a twist on the most refreshing, energizing drink there is.

Coffee, banana and coconut go together perfectly.Coffee, banana and coconut go together perfectly.

1. Coffee Smoothie
Is it a smoothie, or is it coffee? It's both, and you'll never want to choose between the two ever again. If you're not a banana person, swap it out with different fruit - try a cup of frozen raspberries or blueberries. Both taste great with coffee because, let's face it, there aren't many things that a cup of java doesn't instantly improve. The possibilities are truly endless.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coffee
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • Ice cubes

Directions
Prepare a batch of coffee with your 8-Cup Thermal Coffeemaker and keep it chilled in the fridge for a bit. Ideally, it should be kept for a few hours so it's extra cold, but we know how impatient coffee lovers can be. At least wait for it to drop slightly below room temperature, then pour a cup into a blender. Add the banana - or your fruit of choice - as well as coconut milk and ice cubes, and blend well. If you prefer thicker smoothies, add in more fruit, and if you'd rather a milkier consistency, pour in some more coconut milk and coffee. Experiment with different amounts of ingredients for your ideal coffee smoothie.

2. Coffee Protein Shake
Those who love toned muscles as much as they love their morning pick-me-up will instantly fall in love with this concoction. It takes protein powder - the magical ingredient that fitness buffs swear by - and coffee - the magical ingredient that everyone else swears by - and blends them together to make a performance-enhancing beverage. Try this before the gym or on a lazy morning to trick yourself into thinking you're a fitness guru.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coffee
  • 1/2 cup protein powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Ice cubes

Directions
First, brew a batch of coffee and let it cool in the fridge. While you wait, do some pushups or pump some iron to prep for your super yummy protein shake. After a few reps, your coffee should be cold enough. Pour coffee, protein powder, milk and ice into a blender and mix until smooth. Enjoy!

3. Toffee Iced Coffee
Toffee was pretty much made to be paired with coffee. Not only do the two flavors blend perfectly together, but their names even sound the same. It's the best rhyming pair since former celebrity power couple Ben and Jen. Prepare this drink when you're in need of a sweet pick-me-up or if you just want to sing along to the name.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coffee
  • 2 tablespoons butterscotch syrup
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup toffee candy, crushed
  • Ice cubes

Directions
Brew a batch of your favorite coffee and let it cool down a bit before starting on your concoction. Drizzle butterscotch syrup inside a large cup and pour in coffee, almond milk and ice cubes. Mix well so all of the flavors blend together, and add crushed toffee pieces on top for garnish.
