How to Make Bacon Infused Coffee
- Tips and How To's
What are you doing for National Flitch Day? Whether you're a diehard foodie or just a person who loves bacon, you're probably celebrating the glorious holiday by frying some up on the stove for you and all of your friends. But there are other, more interesting ways to enjoy the holiday. If you've never considered trying bacon-infused coffee, today is the day to open your mind. Here's how to prepare it.
- 3 strips bacon
- 1 batch freshly brewed coffee
- Coffee filters.
Prepare a fresh batch of coffee using the Mr. Coffee® Versatile Brew 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker and Hot Water Dispenser. Fry up some bacon as you normally would over the stove, then set aside a few pieces. Blot them well to remove excess oil. Pour a cup of coffee into your blender and add bacon, then mix well. Strain out any pieces that remain by placing a coffee filter over your batch of coffee, and you should be left with a creamy, slightly oily mixture. You'll be able to taste the smoky flavor of the bacon without having it overpower your coffee.
If all of that sounds a little too bold for you, simply take dry, crispy bacon and crumble it into your coffee beans. Using a high quality grinder, like the Blade Grinder with Chamber Maid Cleaning System. Crush the beans and bacon to your desired texture, then brew a batch as your normally would. This will give you a more subtle bacon taste, and you'll skip the mess. Plus, with the automatic cleaning system, you won't even have to worry about clearing out the grinder, either. It's a quick, simple way to celebrate the holiday and get your caffeine fix all at once!
