How to Make Coffee That's out of This World
- Tips and How To's
July 2 is World UFO Day, and while you're outside scanning the sky for extraterrestrial objects, you'll need a beverage to help you power through. Don't let sleepiness get the best of you. Make a batch of coffee to stay alert so you perform exceptional alien surveillance. Here's how to prepare your java so it's out of this world.
Leave it to the Machine
Only simple humans require dozens of steps to manually prepare their coffee. With the Mr. Coffee® Smart Optimal Brew™ 10-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker with Wemo®, you can let the machines do the work for you. Simply program it beforehand using your smartphone or tablet and you'll have a fresh pot of coffee waiting for you at the exact moment you need it.
Grind Your Beans
One of the easiest ways to enhance the taste of your coffee is by grinding your beans right before you brew a new batch. Make sure you're following all of the best practices for storing your beans, and use a grinder to shred them down to the perfect texture. Depending on the type of coffee drink you choose to make, you'll want to stick to a certain level of grind. The rich, bold taste that it produces is unmatchable.
Add New Ingredients
Why opt for the same brew on a day that's meant to celebrate the extraordinary? Add interesting ingredients to your coffee and see which ones you like. Try mixing in peanut butter, coconut oil, honey - anything you normally wouldn't try but have always wanted to. You might just discover a new favorite way to drink coffee. Just be sure to cool your coffee and blend in any ingredient that's naturally thick. Doing so will allow them to mix in perfectly and reduce the chance of clumping together.
World UFO Day only comes around once a year, so do it up big. Add a few drops of green food coloring into your coffee to make it extra alien-like and serve in cups with saucers to mimic an airborne UFO. You can also create fun DIY alien stirrers in a pinch. Dip disposable spoons into melted chocolate and let them cool. Then decorate them with green frosting so they resemble alien heads. Add eyes and a mouth with chocolate syrup.
