Tools Of The Trade
For this recipe, there are a few ways you can go about brewing a sweet cup of pumpkin flavored goodness. For added convenience, you could use an all-in-one option like the Mr. Coffee® Pump Espresso Maker, which allows you to easily brew amazing espresso coffee and froth milk in one easy-to-use piece of equipment. You can also alter these steps slightly for use with a French press and separate milk frother.

Espresso beans work perfectly for this recipe, but if you don't have any on hand, you can use whichever kind you typically prefer. In fact, it could be fun to try out a few different kinds and see which is most to your liking. That's one of the best parts of making coffee at home - it's all about your preferences. Just remember to grind your beans on the fine setting.  If using your French Press, be sure to grind your beans on the coarse setting.

Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte
This season, it's all about pumpkin spice. Now you can enjoy the season's most popular flavor from the comfort of your own home. Make your cozy Saturday mornings that much more enjoyable with a freshly brewed, gourmet quality latte.

  • 2 shots espresso or french-pressed coffee
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin, canned
  • Cinnamon and nutmeg to garnish
  • Whipped cream for topping.

If you're using a French press, start boiling your water now. Otherwise, begin by combining the pumpkin pie spice, vanilla, sugar and pumpkin in a mug. In a separate stainless steel frothing pitcher or ceramic mug, froth your milk then combine with the rest of the ingredients. You'll want the mixture to be nice and thick. If you're using a separate device like the Mr. Coffee® Automatic Milk Frother, froth the milk on the machine's latte setting first, then stir in the other ingredients rapidly. Once that's done, gently pour in your espresso or French-pressed coffee. For garnish, top with whipped cream, a pinch of nutmeg and a dash of cinnamon.
