Make sure your coffeemaker is unplugged and has cooled completely before cleaning. Remove the brew basket, filter carafe, carafe lid, and wash them in a solution of hot water and mild liquid soap, and dry thoroughly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy Even better than my previous coffee maker which was a Mr. Coffee. Like that the water filter is connected to the brew basket drawer. Like that I can remove the water reservoir to fill it. Before I had to fill the carafe with water and then pour that water into the reservoir; one extra step to ensure spillage. Like that the coffee stays hot inside the thermal decanter. Controls are easy to use. Be advised: if you download the owner's manual from Mr. Coffee you'll see on page 5 that the water reservoir is permanently attached to the lid; they no longer make that model and the lid is separate from the water reservoir now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this coffee maker I just replaced my original pot this morning. I guess several years of hard water took it's toll on the water pump. When I purchased the original pot it wasn't because I read the reviews, it was because I was tired of replacing expensive pots. Thermal carafe is a must. It doesn't take long for coffee in a glass carafe on a hot plate to become bitter. That may be OK for someone who adds cream and sugar, but not for black coffee. I like the programmable feature, the removable water tank, and the cleaning feature. The black and stainless matched my appliances and it is inexpensive. This pot lasted far longer than the many expensive pots I tried.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Coffee Ever!!! This coffee maker brews the Best Coffee Ever. Many people have reviewed this product and claims it leaks. It will leak if you overfill the reservoir, but if you just fill it to the Max line, put a normal paper filter in it, and use 4 scoops of coffee, you will have the Best Coffee Ever! We drink tons of coffee in my house. I use the Timer to brew my first pot at 6AM. Then I make four to five more pots a day. Every cup is delicious and Awesome! This is the 2nd one that I bought. The 1st one lasted 5 years, then the clock became too dim to see, so I bought another one. The 1st one still works so I use it at my shore house. Thanks MR. Rated 5 out of 5 by from An exceptional coffee maker I have had this for a month and it gets used multiple times a day. It was purchased on-line despite some sketchy reviews to replace a Melitta thermal coffee maker that died an early death. I cannot believe some of the poor ratings I found on line prior to purchasing.... "Coffee is too hot"....Seriously? Hot water equates to great extraction. Most drip machines are notoriously too cold to get good extraction. This thing is fast, consistent, easy to clean, and just makes an awesome cup of coffee. The only feature I miss on my Melitta is a brew strength choice. I have to use about 1/8 cup more beans to make the cup of coffee I am used to with this maker. Highly recommended

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A solid Mr. Coffee machine I’ve been seeing these reviews where they are saying it leaks. This is probably not the case. I’ve had these “leaks” 3 times now. It’s because I didn’t empty the carafe from the day before. That is my fault not the machine. I’ve had this machine for several years now. I throw the carafe and basket into the dishwasher several times a week with no issues. It makes a great cup of coffee and I never ever want to go back to a glass carafe as the burner element burns the coffee after awhile. Ive been working from home over the past year and I’ve had good coffee from 7:30 - 12:00 every day with this machine. I love it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from great design I bought this pot about a week ago, trying the thermal carafe. I really liked the removable reservoir and the slide out basket. Also love this version of the freshness timer. It has a very sleek design and it fit perfectly under my counter. After making my first pot of coffee; first cup came out piping hot and the aroma was to die for, but after only 1 hour the second cup was barely even hot. I drink a lot of coffee, usually about 2 - 3 cups a day sometimes more. So I would not recommend this to anyone who drinks a lot of coffee, because you would only get 1 cup of hot coffee. I'm going back to the traditional glass carafe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Coffee Maker I've owned. We first bought this as a gift for friends almost three years ago. After hearing how much they loved it for two years we got one for ourselves. This coffeemaker looks great and makes coffee that tastes great. Don't read too much in to the bad reviews...we haven't experienced any negative issues at all. In fact, the left over coffee is still warm when I dump it out of the thermal carafe 9 hours later after work. Complaints of cold coffee....I just can't believe it. A little piece of advice...we bought a second carafe off the Mr. Coffee website for $15 or so (really good deal). When you have extra company you can set one carafe right on the table for people to enjoy while a second is brewing. You'll want to do the same....I promise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Coffee not hot enough after brewing Mr. Coffee came out with a great design on this brewing system. Easy to use buttons, stylish, looks great in my kitchen. Easy to fill with water. The main problem is that the coffee isn't very hot right after brewing. In other words, you don't really see "steaming" coffee while pouring into your cup. It's average temperature, not bad, I can still drink it but PREFER it to be much hotter. Also, the round filter part that is suppose to snap close after turning it doesn't stay sometimes. I open the filter part to toss used grounds and sometimes see the filter laying in it. Otherwise, it's a great coffeemaker. I still love it.
