Is there a serviceable part for the on/off switch for the coffee maker. This is the second maker that either won't turn off or won't turn on, the second one is less than a year old.

Just got mr.coffee maker 12 cup last nite. Brew coffee and taste like plastic and strong smell from inside. Why?can you answer this before I take it back.

Thank you for contacting Mr. Coffee&reg;! We are sorry to hear that your coffee has a plastic taste and strong smell. We suggest you to clean your coffee maker first before use. You can follow the cleaning instructions on the manual or these steps: Mix distilled white vinegar and water at a ratio of 2 tablespoons of vinegar for every 5 oz. cup that your coffee maker's water reservoir holds. Run the mixture through the coffee maker. Do not put coffee in the machine. And repeat the cycle if you want, but mix a fresh batch of vinegar/water. We hope this helps!
