Mr. Coffee® Performance Brew 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker, Red/Brushed Chrome is rated 2.3 out of 5 by 269.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from The carafe is a nightmare To be fair, the coffee is pretty good. But what were they thinking with the carafe and pour design. The water dispenser is completely in the way of pouring in the water into the tank. At the same time, the carafe ring has a lip that protrudes about 1/2 inch on the inner side of the carafe rim making it impossible to empty unless you hold the carafe upside down. Water always ends up on the counter top and down the basket and onto the burner before the carafe can be set in place. Sizzle sizzle bubble bubble. Unfortunately for us, too late to return. Now, all we can do is call it a $30.00 mistake and get a couple bucks back in a garage sale.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Coffee pot leaks I got this as a present at Christmas and have had continual problems with the pot leaking around the black flange at the top of the pot. I have tried pouring it slow and all at once but nothing helps. I always end up with a puddle of coffee or water on the counter and water down the side of the coffee maker. The option to hold the flow of coffee if you want a cup before it finishes brewing never seems to work. The coffee just keeps coming and gets all over the heating element. I had better luck with the $9.99 off brand. This was an expensive present and I would not buy it again. Mr. Coffee is suppose to be a great brand. I am rethinking it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not impressed after 4 months. Won't brew properly I loved the style and color when I first bought it from Best Buy. It only worked for a couple weeks and now I can't have coffee at home. Coffee maker runs out of water during brew cycle because of too much steam. Clock and everything electronic stops working because of steam. Had to replace a shelf and paint on wall because of damage from steam. After the maker brews for 15 minutes I have to add more water to finish cycle and coffee smells burnt. I've followed all of instructions and researched what to do. I've cleaned the machine multiple times and it's still not working properly. Wish I would've spent a little more on a more dependable maker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It does what a brewer should do Four months after purchase, I am pleased with the purchase. I see what other reviewers mean about awkward filling, but I can use the hose from my faucet to direct water into the reservoir without spillage. The carafe, as others have stated, has a lip that makes complete emptying difficult. I don't have a problem with spillage, but with the steam that billows over my hand when the carafe is inverted. Then there's the end-of-cycle beep that seems to go off at random times during the cycle rather than at the end. All those are minor complaints. The thing makes good coffee rapidly without a lot of complexity and that's what I want.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT USER-FRIENDLY/ Poor Design There are several design flaws with this model. 1. The water spray head is located so close to the reservoir which makes it difficult to pour water in. 2. Water filter kit should be simpler and better with less parts. Because it sits on top of the brew basket, it often grinds from the baskets get all over the filter. 3. Carafe lids does stay on. You must hold the lids when you pour coffee because the the grooves/hinge that hold one end of the lids are so small and shallow to hold the lid. 4. Recently noticed that there is a gap between the glass and the carafe grip. Safety concern. Over all, this model is not use friendly at al.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Coffee I bought this a few Months ago after our last Mr. Coffee was fried during a power outage. This is same model that we had previously, however a few changes had been made. I do not care for the clock not being illuminated. Reading the time is very difficult. The coffee itself tastes great. We drink coffee every day, so it get's a lot of use, however, we only get about a year out of our Mr. Coffee coffee pots. The one thing I have noticed about this maker is that their is always a little water that has pooled underneath it. Even when I am very careful to not over fill it. No matter what I do, we always have some water on the counter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design overall I've only had this coffee maker for a month and am not happy with it. Even when I set the coffee to brew strong, it's still just as weak as the regular setting. Then the clean light (a red blinking light) came on. I followed the instructions in the manual for cleaning the machine, but the light would not turn off. I also had the same pouring issues others have had with the carafe. At first I thought I was doing something wrong when pouring, but yeah...impossible to pour water into the resevoir without spilling it. Pour carafe design, poor electronic design, all over poor. Can't get my money back's been over 30 days.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Coffee Using the recommended bean/water ratio yields a very weak, inferior coffee. Using more beans and strong brew yields a slightly better but still weak coffee. If you take the weak coffee and pour it back through the filter a 2nd time you get a decent cup. But I'm sure that isn't want you have in mind when you get an automatic coffee maker. One other thing is that this is a poorly engineered design. It is difficult to pour the water into the machine because the lid interferes with the decanter. The result is that there is water left in the pot which would further weaken the brew. But even draining this out and drying the pot won't make this coffee decent.
