Care & Maintenance
Make sure your coffeemaker is unplugged and has cooled completely before cleaning. Remove the brew basket, filter carafe, carafe lid, and wash them in a solution of hot water and mild liquid soap, and dry thoroughly.
Minerals (calcium/limestone) found in water will leave deposits in your coffeemaker and affect its performance. It's recommended that you regularly remove these deposits using vinegar.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible New Designed Coffee Maker I just bought the 12 cup simple brew maker and have to say this new model is terrible. Reason's 1- The pot/ pops every 30-45 seconds soundslike a gun going off, the metal band on the pot must be getting hot and popping, wakes up my daughter. 2- The new design lid on the pot now drops water on the floor when you go to pour the coffee. The condensation must be building up on the lid and goes everywhere. 3-The new lid to the water reservoir also holds a lot of condensation and water builds up there also and have to get a paper towel to wipe it off when you open the lid. The old design was so much better than his new one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Google Assistant We need a simple coffeemaker with a toggle switch. We like to set up the coffee the night before and then tell Google assistant to start the coffee before we even get out of bed. We soon found out our fancy schmantzy coffeemaker didn't work for this purpose because it turns out that when power is applied to an electronic switch, it doesn't turn on. This simple coffeemaker is perfect. We can even have it start at a specific time if we want by programming Google to start it automatically. We've been using it daily for a year or two.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stopped heating after 3years and light usage The machine is a nice economical coffee maker. Until it stopped working, I had no issues with it, I actually liked it. But it stopped heating after 3 years (weekend use mostly). I understand and respect that the warranty is 1 year but it is the first time for me that a coffee maker has such a problem so fast and with so light usage.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for Left-handers Why in the world would you change the design so the water reservoir opens to the left??? No left-hander can fill this; even turning the entire machine to the side results in the reservoir filling being obstructed by the grounds basket. The old, open front to back, easily fill from either left or right was perfect. This is terrible. What about the people who don't have use of their right arm at all??? Complete fail here. Complete, blind, thoughtless re-make.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't Last We bought this mid 2018 and stored it for use at Christmas time breakfast. we took it out on the evening before and ran the clean water per instructions. on Christmas morning, one pot of coffee was made and that was it. Done, no more, didnt care to make the second pot so we had to pull out our smaller one, a 4 cup unit, so our guests could have coffee. Wont buy a Mr Coffee again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Teflon coating loss after only a few months of use I bought this pot as a replacement for my mom's 15 year old one as a gift at Christmas. When I visited her the other day, I noticed the Teflon coating on the hot plate was off in a large area near the front, and had started rusting. It's only been used for 5 months! Cheap!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from smelly and can't make a full pot of coffee If I could give this product even less stars than one, I would. I bought this coffee maker 2 weeks ago to replace another Mr. Coffee product. First of all, it small stongly of melted plastic when it was turned on. Then, if I made a full pot of coffee--12 cups, as advertised, I ended up with a lot of grounds in the pot. Even with making only 10 cups, I still get a lot of grounds in the pot. What a waste--you could not drink all of the coffee--so much went down the drain!!! I bought a 12 cup coffee maker to get 12 cups--I can't even get 10 cups of clean coffee. We usually brew at least 2 pots of coffee a day. I did have the same type of problems with the previous Mr. Coffee as well. I was hoping that this coffee maker would be better. I live in a very small town so my options are limited as to what I can purchase. But, I have been using Mr. Coffee products for over 30 years--NEVER AGAIN!!! I will be driving over 100 miles just to purchase a new coffee maker. It will NOT be a Mr. Coffee. I can not understand how a product that I swore by for so many years would be so problematic with the last 2 coffee makers that I purchased. I put up with the last one but, this one will be going back to the store!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of garbage- alas, likely to be landfilled " 'Classic functionality' and modest design keep brewing simple and easy for coffee drinkers that love the taste of a great cup of coffee!" Not. The "classic functionality" is deficient, unlike Mr. Coffees of yore. Was looking for a nice, simple, small-footprint coffee maker without a bunch of bells and whistles, and chose this. The projecting spring-loaded auto-pause Grab a Cup basket leaks like crazy when the pot is removed. Poor design, lid has no top vent, and water accumulates on its bottom when closed. So when basket is removed, the accumulated water on the sides all rolls down at once. Onto plate. Useless customer svc rep-- spoke down to me like a kindergarten teacher, bottom line is that any coffee that is already in the bottom section will leak out when carafe is removed, and that's not a problem, just normal function. When I return it to Target, I wager they will consider it a problem. I try to conserve resources, so don't like having to return a large brand new non-recyclable product. This is my last Mr. Coffee product.
