Browned Butter Peppermint Mocha

Ingredients:

    For the browned butter peppermint mocha sauce: 

    • 2 tbsp salted butter, browned 
    • 2 tbsp granulated sugar 
    • 1 tbsp cocoa powder 
    • 1/3 cup half-and-half 
    • 1/4 cup semi sweet chips 
    • 1/4 tsp pure peppermint extract 

     
    For the mocha: 

    • 6 ounces whole chocolate milk 
    • Two shots of espresso 
    • Browned butter peppermint mocha sauce 

Instructions:

Browned Butter Sauce

  1. Begin by browning your butter in a small saucepan over medium to high heat.
  2. Add your sugar and whisk.
  3. Add the half and half and whisk until sugar is fully dissolved.
  4. Add the cocoa powder and whisk until incorporated and no powder remains. 
  5. Remove from heat and immediately add the chocolate chips. Whisk until smooth.
  6. Add the peppermint extract. Mix and set aside
  7. In a medium sized mug, add your browned butter peppermint sauce. 

Mocha

  1. Follow the instructions on your Mr. Coffee OneTouch Coffeehouse+ to brew a double shot of espresso
  2. Then hit the froth button to add the steamed whole chocolate milk to your drink. 

Finishing Touches - Top with any of the following: homemade whipped cream, mug cookies, festive sprinkles, cocoa powder, or crushed candy canes.
