Rated 1 out of 5 by Steve Steve from Jarden: good; product design: horrible. Mr. Coffee and other "leading" coffee maker firms have moved from a simple (2 parts) basket design to a too-sensitive and hence problematic 5 part design. One of those new parts is a spring loaded button that squeezes between the basket and the decanter lid. That mechanism can easily be broken off during normal dishwashing. Once the spring mechanism fails, coffee cannot be dripped. Hence our need to buy replacement parts (we bought two, because the system is so fragile) from Jarden. Design engineers have over-complicated the good, prior design. You should avoid the new design if you can find any other "manufacturer" that avoided this fatal "improvement".

Rated 1 out of 5 by Madmatt from Same old problem Haven't had the coffee maker but a couple of years and the filter basket broke. Turns out this is a very common problem. No help whatsoever from the folks at Mr. Coffee, bought one on their site. three dollars but over 6.00 to ship. Too bad, lost a good customer over a mere 3.00 part that is known to break. I work for GM and when there is a common failed part on a customers car we do what's called "Good Will" repair. We do this repairs costing much more than three dollars. Might want to think that one over. I have read many of the same things about the filter basket and the little clip that ALWAYS breaks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by SatinSilver from Horrible. This basket looked exactly like the basket that came with my coffee maker, the SJX series because the one listed did not fit either, but then when it came, it did not fit and it caused grounds and water to leak all over the place. I threw the whole thing out. So, both filters did not fit my coffee maker. I bought a new coffee maker. I only needed to replace the rubber washer in the basket, my coffee maker was new when it broke in the first place. Waste of time and shipping $.

Rated 2 out of 5 by PeterPottery from Gasket popped in less than a year The little rubber gasket popped off. Couldn't be found. $6 shipping on a $3 item seems a little high when the whole coffee maker retails for $19.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Replacepart from Glad for Replacement Parts I bought this as the delayed perk on the bottom had broken off a new coffee maker less than 3 months old. Hope this one last longer than the other one did, sucks you have to pay when it is new.
