Rated 1 out of 5 by libraryone from Carafe breaks easily I was washing this carafe in the sink with some other items. When the lip of the coffee pot hit another dish, a large segment broke out of the lip. Not great, but still usable. A few days later, I was setting the broken pot upside down in the dish drainer, and a second larger piece of the pot's lip broke off. In neither case did the pot hit with a lot of impact; so I'm puzzled as to why it broke so easily. Anyway, the coffee maker is less than a year old, so I don't want to buy a new machine. But apparently replacing the carafe isn't going to be an option, either, since every place seems to be out of stock or charging a ridiculous amount for it. I don't really want to buy a used pot on ebay. Needless to say, I'm not very happy Mr. Coffee customer right now. If you've got this coffee pot, treat it like it's as fragile as an egg, because it breaks about as easily as one!

Rated 1 out of 5 by NKarkhanis from New version breaks easily I bought a Mr Coffee NL4 about 15 years ago, and it's been serving admirably. The original carafe chipped about 1 year ago after a hard bump while washing, so I got this one as a replacement. This one served for less than a year, and a much softer bump broke the glass at its rim. Did something change in the glass tempering process that makes these more fragile than the original? So many of the reviews here mention fragility... Even more frustrating is that these are no longer available online, either here or at other online retailers. Will they ever be back in stock or do I need to buy a new coffee maker?

Rated 4 out of 5 by EmilyK from Conveniently replaced broken Mr. Coffee carafe After I dropped and broke the glass carafe that came with my Mr. Coffee coffeemaker, I ordered a replacement. The process was problem-free through to the delivery of the replacement carafe. I guess my only complaint is that the delivery cost was about the same as the cost of the carafe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Grandma S from With an unbroken carafe, it would be five stars! If and when the carafe is available, I hope I can get one. Better yet, I wish I could get one made like Pyrex or Corningl Both can make glassware that can take the heat for years. For the few weeks before the carafe broke, I really liked the coffeemaker. But one star is too high for a coffeemaker that has no carafe!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mooreshouse from Good carafe but almost too small I bought this carafe to replace my old one due to losing the lid when I recently moved. I guess my coffeemaker is pretty old because this pot is smaller around than my old one. When I make coffee, I have to move this coffeepot a little off center so that it hits the spring part on the bottom of my coffee filter holder so that the coffee will come out once it has brewed. It's ok and I have not had any issues with it leaking. Would recommend it if it is replacing a more recent coffeemaker.

Rated 1 out of 5 by 323TrailRunner from Carafe Itself Breaks Easily I was doing the dishes by hand and discovered the Carafe was broken. The Coffee Maker is good but the Carafe replacement should be close to free since it's about half the price of the coffee maker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mekong36 from Excellent workhorse! For years, I have been using Mr. Coffee 4-cup coffee-makers, one of the most competitively priced and efficient workhorse in making regular coffees. If you take care of the carafe (i.e. don't break it), it will go on being productive and save you $$. Why spend big dollars on high-end coffee-machines when a simple regular maker will bring you the same enjoyment and fix every morning? If you fancy exotic coffees then go ahead and enjoy them rather than spending beaucoup dollars for a coffee maker that looks like Ironman in the sci-fi movie!

Rated 5 out of 5 by TaylorE from Good coffee pot for a dorm room! Won a 4-cup coffee maker at my senior graduation party, and have been using the coffee maker in my dorm room. This carafe is pretty solid. However, the glass lip out of which you pour coffee broke when I accidentally hit it against the sink, so I am buying a new one. All that said, it's worth the investment.
