Care & Maintenance
Hard water can leave mineral deposits inside the pitcher and the brew basket. To remove these, fill the brew basket and the pitcher with warm, undiluted white household vinegar. Let soak for 20 minutes, then rinse. Never use harsh, abrasive cleansers, steel wool pads or other abrasive materials. They may cause scratches which can lead to breakage. CAUTION! Never immerse the iced tea maker itself in water, in any other liquid or in the dishwasher.
Decalcifying your Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker Mineral (calcium/limestone) found in the water will leave deposits in your iced tea maker and will affect its performance. If you notice an increase in steaming or if the pumping action stops before all of the water has been pumped out of the appliance, it’s time to clean it. 1. Pour one quart of undiluted, white household vinegar into the water reservoir. 2. Place the pitcher lid on the pitcher and slide the pitcher into place under the iced tea maker. 3. Push the “on” button to begin the brewing cycle. After one cup of cleaner or vinegar has pumped into the pitcher, unplug the iced tea maker. Let it stand for 30 minutes.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from This one is the best you offer right now This is the best one you have to offer at this time. I have bought over 25 since you came out with the first one. It looked similar to this one, except it had an adjustable lever on the side of the basket that you could set the strength. You could also close the basket off so it would not drip when taking out of the pitcher. I believe it came in a 3qt and had two pitchers before you discontinued it. Please bring this one back. The last four years your model of Iced Tea Makers are very disappointing. I have tried all, including the glass pitcher one. Lately I have been making my own your a pitcher and a hot water unit I bought in Ukraine. We drink Iced Tea every day.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible new design I've used these ice tea makers for over 20 years. My latest finally broke down, so I bought a new one on sale at local store. When my first pitcher turned out weak, I brewed the next pitcher without the lid on the brew basket to see what was going on. To my surprise, the hot water just pours into the basket and immediate drains into the pitcher. There is absolutely no steeping going on. The old basket had a steep valve, the new one does not. This newer (cheaper) design might work if the hole was smaller, but at its current size, the hot water barely wets the tea bags. Mr. Coffee, please either bring back the steeping valve on side of brew basket, or make the hole smaller.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with my purchase! I ordered this on 9/21/15 and it arrived at my doorstep 5 days later! First time purchaser on the website, so it means a lot. :) Product wasn't damaged, nothing missing and arrived earlier than expected! (9/26 estimated for 9/29) I'm very pleased to say that it makes a great batch of tea as well! I was a little weary since it doesn't have the little knob on the steeping chamber like an older model that my mom has had for quite some time. I thought that may have made the tea weaker, but nope, still makes the awesome sweet tea that I remember. Hot or chilled, it's great! (I added 6 teabags, fyi) It's a refreshed version of itself. I love the blue and I would definitely recommend giving it a try! :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Features, Easy To Use This is my second purchase of same model. The first one we replaced, because the pitcher broke and at the time it was close to the same price. I've had this one for about 5 years. Appliance still works great. It is easy to use. Makes great Iced Tea and just add sugar to ice to make Sweet Tea. I use it several times a week. I usually rinse it out after each use and put tea in another pitcher, then run it through the dishwasher a couple times a month. My only complaint is that the pitcher eventually can not take the extreme hot and cold and eventually cracks. It is sturdy, thick plastic, but the hot/cold wears on it. Also, I'd like to know that it does not have any BPA in the plastic?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and works like expected We used this style for many years until we finally wore it out. Couldn't find the same style in stores so bought a newer version of the Mr. Coffee. Didn't like it, it leaked and was always a problem to use. Couldn't find this style anywhere until I thought to try your website. Eureka! They were available and were on sale so I bought two in order to have a back up for the first one in case of problems. Bought a second RV to travel in so am now using the second tea maker in it. Ordering was easy and the delivery was really quick. Very satisfied. Please don't stop having this available because I know I will wear out these two tea makers eventually.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Newer is not better I bought this unit as a replacement for my previous one which had a broken pitcher. The new one doesn't allow you to "steep" the tea and therefore the tea is not as strong as the old one made it. It also doesn't dissolve the sugar as well in the upper section as the old one did. This survey seems to be designed for coffee drinkers but the unit I bought is a tea maker.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 3 Qt Tea Makers are garbage I have owned several Mr. Coffee tea makers over the last 15 or so years. Usually the pitchers wear out before the maker. Not the case with the last 2 I have purchased. One purchased a year ago recently started shutting off before competing the brew cycle. It requires restarting 4 or 5 times to complete one brew cycle. So I picked up another one a week ago. Worked fine for 3 pitchers of tea. Then on the 4th pitcher, same problem. Had to restart the brewing 3 times to make one pitcher. Once, I pressed the button, turned my back and didn't even get out of the kitchen before hearing it pop off. Absolutely unacceptable. Time to find an alternative product/method to brew tea.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Removed features I’ve been using this product for over 15 years, have bought multiple ones and recommended it to all my friends. When I purchased the TM1-BLK, the first thing I noticed was it was smaller and then I noticed I couldn’t control the strength of the brew. If my old unit hadn’t quit working and the pitcher hadn’t cracked, I would’ve gone back to the old one. I’m having to use more tea bags and make more pitchers a day now. Seriously thinking of going back to boiling my tea on the stove and foregoing using your machine all together.
