The Temp iQ system features thermoblock heating technology and PID temperature control to evenly heat during the espresso extraction, combined with Pre-Infusion to bloom the espresso grounds for optimally extracted espresso. A cafe-sized 58 mm portafilter allows for even water dispersion and robust flavor. Powerful steam wand produces creamy froth and microfoam milk for cappuccinos, lattes and more. Auto shot volumetric control dispenses the correct amount of water for 1 or 2 shots of espresso. Cup warming tray and hot water option for espresso ready cups. Love that I can make coffee for myself and steam milk for my child. Machine works efficiently its a bit on the loud side but for how good my espresso shots taste I will take a little noise. Already recommending this machine to all family and friends.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It started out amazing... For the first 6 months, this espresso machine was my baby, a lifesaver, and daily commodity. I cleaned it religiously and followed all instructions to ensure it would last me a long time. This is my first espresso machine and we received it as a gift for our wedding. Dedicated a coffee bar in our kitchen to show it off, recommended to friends and family. However, about 6 months in, we started noticing our it took nearly triple the normal amount of time to get a shot of our morning espresso. I was convinced it was a cleaning issue. After soaking, using the recommended tablets, and ensuring there’s no buildup elsewhere, we still have the problem and it’s getting worse! I’m desperate to fix it but not sure what else to do. Otherwise, it was fun while it lasted :(

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not too bad. I just receive my espresso machine and I need to practice, but I have been working with espresso machines before and I find dificult to make creamy milk . I don't know if the steamer hasn't enough power. In other way the 2 shots filter doesn't work. Water doesn't come out. When you remove it, the water and coffee spill over. Please. I need a replacement.

Besides, Having 1 single shot is making a big mess because the 2 streams comes out so apart from each other that it is almost impossible to catch both streams inside regular espresso cup, unless you hold the cup up to the dispenser head

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Machine Bought this for Christmas and have been using daily ever since. This is my first home espresso maker and I've been really impressed. Definitely an art you learn to master. Once you do it's a great way to start your morning! I've probably saved over $500 in coffee "to-go" purchases. Only nitpick is that I wish it had a low water light. Finally, really hoping I can get replacement parts down the road if needed. This seems to be calphalons first stab at espresso makers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Consistently good espresso but has its quirks Just some context. The machine is used for a minimum of 6 double espressos per day. My home experience has ranged from super-automatic to full manual. I am very wary about the "paid for hype" for some machines hence why I bought this. When used with good coffee (I use Illy) the espresso is consistently good. I have actually now tried with single wall non-pressurized filters and the quality is just as good and on par with more expensive machines, I have used in the past. Read the instructions they are perhaps the best I have read. The main quirk is the priming for the steam...it requires about 30 secs and that can require an extra cup to prevent water splash. Steaming of milk is easy (If you follow the instructions). Given the volume of coffee we make, the machine does require a daily empty of the overflow but it is very easy to do. The water reservoir is a good size and easily accommodates a day's supply. I have had a problem with the 2 cup filter and it gets blocked and cleaning is hit and miss hence why I changed to the single wall non-pressurized. I have read reviews elsewhere that state 1) The pump can not produce coffee....try cleaning the filters as instructed on a regular basis as they do get blocked and, 2) You can not steam milk...you must prime it first read the instructions. I am able to fill the jug only 1/4 full with milk and have steamed milk overflowing from the top. Overall I highly recommend this machine. I wish I had bought the grinder version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Step up Was in the market for a decent espresso machine that pulls good shots. Thought about pro consumer products but didn't want to spend time and effort. This device was a huge step up for me for home made espresso and coffee shop espressos. Might buy a different portafilter one day for a change but I have been drinking delicious espresso with standard setup.

I drink coffee every morning like most and for this to break in just 3 months for the price it stupid and frustrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Machine! I bought my Temp IQ in Early December 2020 and since then it’s seen relatively heavy use (5-6 double shot lattes daily) with absolutely NO issues. The quality of the shots and the microfoam has been fantastic and even my newbie DiL hasn’t had a problem learning. I did upgrade to a leveler/tamper, easy to do with the 58mm portafilter size and we added a decent standalone grinder. I initially thought that I would give it a try to see if I actually used it at home before upgrading but I’m so happy with it that I’m planning on purchasing a second Temp IQ for our vacation home, this time with the built in grinder. You can’t ask for a better value either and the Temp IQ is now one of the highest rated on the market, certainly the highest rated at the price point. Had to grab Starbucks on the road the other day and realized that I prefer my home brewed!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Impossible to get replacement filter baskets This was a Christmas surprise for my husband. The espresso machine itself is easy enough to use BUT the filter baskets are not ridged which makes it very easy for them to fall out when knocking out the puck. Unfortunately, we’ve lost both filters this way. Repeated emails and calls to Calphalon customer service have been unanswered which is extremely frustrating. In addition, finding a replacement basket that fits this specific espresso maker has proven to be very challenging. I’m not sure I would buy this espresso machine again given the poor customer service from Calphalon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best machine for the money! I got this machine in March 2020 and have been loving it! 30 years ago I started out with a simple pressure device, which was fine. Moved through a couple of other low end machines and then got a used machine similar to this. The steam wand eventually fell off and could not be fixed. I had a budget and the hunt was on! This machine won hands down! No reviews saying it broke after less than a year. 58mm head and most importantly, a fully swinging steam wand. Out of the box the machine was wonderful, makes great shots and steams like a dream! I love it so much I ordered one for my sister and her husband. He was against loosing his drip machine but was won over with the first latte. My nieces love getting flavored steamed milk and my sister raves about the espressos. The only con is keeping an eye on the H2O (standard complaint). Now if only there was a matching conical grinder.
