Care & Maintenance
Make sure your coffeemaker is unplugged and has cooled completely before cleaning. Remove the brew basket, filter carafe, carafe lid, and wash them in a solution of hot water and mild liquid soap, and dry thoroughly.
Minerals (calcium/limestone) found in water will leave deposits in your coffeemaker and affect its performance. It's recommended that you regularly remove these deposits using vinegar.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Keep the 4 Have had these pots for years. Never a problem. My 4 cup was getting too small. Bought this one and returning it just as fast. The design is inconvienent. Lid opens sideways. Doesn't leave a lot of room to fill water. The spout (not on 4 cup model) has to be moved over to place filter and add coffee. Then it has to be returned and filter has to be adjusted to fit under spout. If it was made the same as all others, where lid opens straight up and no spout, it would be a lot easier and not at all awkward. All these should have been illustrated in pics.The design doesn't make for ease or better coffee.Glad I kept my 4 cup.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken after a year essentially I bought this coffee maker last year around this same time And it’s of poor quality sadly the machine does cut off during brewing and the unit can leak coffee and or hot water from the bottom of the coffee maker also the top lid of the unit can be faulty and break after prolonged use since it has a swinging arm attachment and has to pop into place I am going to get a more quality coffee maker that has better frequent use capabilities since I am a everyday coffee drinker so I need a rugged workhouse machine that can be cleaned well after use as well this model is for one off uses or not very serious coffee drinkers

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Water Dispenser, Filtration and Clock We had a previous version that worked well for years. With This one it spurts water onto the grounds and ends up everywhere. The only way to manage it is to only put enough grounds in for 4 cups. (We never had this problem with our last one). also we need to use the water filtration to help avoid the ground getting everywhere. After several months of use the water filter is getting old and can never get cleaned enough to be confidant all the bacteria is out. We can't seem to find a replacement part? We are also having a difficult time with the Clock it is now almost impossible to set Buttons are hard to push and even if we could get the timer to set I don't have the faith in it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mr. coffee disappointment Mr. coffee disappointment I had an older version of Mr. coffee and it worked great. I decided to buy a new one extremely disappointing. First of all it did not have a basket to put a filter in so it is messy to empty. this one stops in the middle of brewing and then starts up again end it leaks. Truly think I have to go shopping again for a new coffee maker

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unpredictable shutoff time Apparently a lot of people with the same issue. Needed a replacement for the old 4 cup Mr Coffee, so got this one. Shuts off whenever it wants to- sometimes immediately after brewing, a couple times before it was even finished brewing. Despite the answer bot on here always saying they never hear about it, it seems to be a pretty common problem. Water also bypasses the brew basket and drips onto the hot plate when you remove the carafe. Very disappointed and will be looking for a different brand replacement.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Coffee maker is dying. Every few days I have the same mid-brew shut off experience as all the other reviewers. It’s time to put him down and purchase a small pot that can handle my usage. Sad to see you go, buddy, but it’s time. Goodbye. :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Bought it about 3 weeks ago, took a while for hot plastic taste/smell to go away, but makes a decent cup of coffee. Like most other reviews, 2 hour safety shutoff is totally random, sometimes as short as 10-15 minutes. I thought I was doing something wrong, but nope, it just shuts itself off. I already threw out the box, etc, or I would return. This actually is as bad as the reviews indicate, already looking for replacement.
