Customer service is impossible to get ahold of and once I finally did they said it was cosmetic and I’d have to pay for the return. Trash customer service. Products arrive with defects.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Handles get extremely hot I bought this saucepan, along with the 2.5 qt. saucepan, almost two months ago. Although both pans are pretty, and heat up quickly, the handles get dangerously hot. I have tried using silicone sleeves on the handles, but still have to be very careful. I do not recommend either of these saucepans, due to the heat transfer to the handles. Note that I have not had this problem with previous Calphalon products.

I thought it was the same as a set I had just purchased as I wanted it to match. It definitely was not. Not only is the color different but the style was different too.

The one thing I don't like is the handle. I can't hang it on my homemade pot rack because the hole is too small.

The non-stick surface wears off or gets scratched easily and it's not longer non-stick. I appreciate the better breed of non-stick surface even if it costs more as long as it lives up to it's cost in life expectancy.

When it was time to strain the noodles, they went into the sink. I also don't think the lid fits tight enough to make rice the way I like to prepare it (with a tight fitting lid).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1.5 and 2.5 are a "top pick" I bought the 2.5 qt saucepan along with this one. Each has it's own niche and is, for me, perfect for what I need. The 2.5 qt is perfect for making gravies and similar larger volume sauces. The 1.5 is my go-to for clarifying butter and for smaller volumes of sauce than in the 2.5. Very happy with both of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute winning design I've only had a chance to use this once and it was absolutely perfect for creating a mushroom gravy from start to finish through three phases of reduction. The lid is perfect and slightly better than other Calphalon pan lids I have. Cleanup was like washing out a cereal bowl. Nothing to it. This design is closer to one that was discontinued several years ago than to the one it is either replacing or is just a step above. The slight taper to the sides is a plus. The discontinued version was the winner in America's Test Kitchen test of saucepans this size. Very happy they brought out this design.
