Handle gets hot.
I like the pot and the lid. Unfortunately, the handle gets extremely hot. I have to use an oven mitt when handling it while it's in-use.

No longer a Calphalon fan from
Not what I expected. Calphalon has cut corners :(
I've bought Calphalon products in the past and this is why I placed my order. I expected the same quality from my legacy Calphalon pots. However, the sauce pan felt like the same inferior lightweight pans that you can get at any walmart location, and the pot had a completely unnecessary spout. It looks like Calphalon is cutting corners with their cookware, as I have no need for a spout. It affects the way my recipes turn out. The lid they designed for said spout doesn't do its job as it's not a tight fit and it prolongs my cooking time and certain recipes come up rather dry. I don't get enough steam generating to cook my recipes thoroughly without drying them out. This is the last time I purchase a Calphalon product.

They do wear out
I love all of my Caphalon pots and have had them for over 25 years. However I am having to replace them one by one as they are pealing on the bottom. It seems the finish is wearing off!

Review
I like the look and the size, but the handle gets very hot which I was not expecting. I have the frying pans and those handles do not get hot so it’s not consistent

Not thrilled
I have bought Calphalon for years from Macy's. This year I decided to go directly to the company because Macy's did not have what I wanted. The product from the company was disappointing to say the least. The pan itself is not as thick as usual and when I wash it, my sponge has black paint (?) when I wash the bottom of the pan, even now, after a month of washing and using it.

Calphalon Excellence
Replaced my 20 yr old pot because guest chipped it. Love the new pot, especially the top with drains, the pot'spour spouts and measures inside. Superb! Just might replace my old set because of these features.

Sauce pan
The depth of this saucepan is much steeper than my old one. I still like my old one BEST.

Handle gets hot!
I love the idea of this pot. The strainer lid is helpful but the handle gets so hot I cannot easily pick it up and have to use mitts. Maybe that is why it was on sale.

Small sauce pan
1. Trusted name in cookware.
2. Awesome pans and easy care.
3. Last a long time. Love cooking with Calphalon cookware.

Love the saucepan
Wonderful saucepan just like all my other Calphalon cookware. Even cleans up after burned on cranberry sauce. I prefer Calphalon because it is lighter than major brand. As a senior woman it is much easier to handle.

A Solid Replacement Choice
This pan was purchased to replace an existing Calphalon pan whose interior finish was degrading. The old pan was part of a set and the new on doesn’t quite match the old. The lid is quite a bit thicker than the old and presents problems when trying to store with the other pans under cabinet.

Lid design not stackable thus not practical.
I purchased to add to my Calphalon collection but was disappointed with the design of the lid. It is deep for straining purposes and not stackable.

Replacement pot is good, but not what I expected
I bought these to replace a couple of pots that were worn out
I don’t like the strainer lid
I don’t care for the pour spouts on the pots
I thought I was gonna get exactly the same type of pot that I had before, but I guess I didn’t read the description closely enough
I never thought anybody would try to put a strainer lid in a pot
Prefer a normal pot

Handles get extremely hot
I purchased this pan, along with the 3.5 qt. sauce pan and have been using them for the past few weeks. Although they are pretty pans and heat up quickly, the handles become unbearably hot. I tried using a silicone sleeve on the handles, but still have to be very careful. I can't recommend this pan, or the 3.5 qt. pan, due to the severe heat transfer to the handles. This has never happened in the past, with other Calphalon products I've owned, and I am very disappointed.

scratches inside sauce pan
Our 2.5 quart pan has scratches on the bottom and sides of the inside of the pan. This has occurred over the past several years and seems to be getting worse. The pans finish is not in keeping with a quality product..

NOT Calphalon quality
Cheap feel, hollow handle, thin base metal, basically a cheaper less well made faux "Calpahlon Classic" wannabe

Pretty good but some flaws
The pot seems very sturdy and I like the feature in the lid with the strainer. However, I’m not a fan of this hollow handle because you can’t really clean inside of it. I have to specifically angle the pot in certain directions to rinse the soap out of it. Also, after one use with a plastic spoon, I noticed lines that are remaining at the bottom of the pot in a circular pattern. Not scratched, of course. Seems way too new to show any wear.

Definitely not as well made
I bought a replacement for my old 2.5 qt sauce pan. The new one is now made in China (possibly the old one was also, but the new clearly states so), but the biggest difference is in the handle. The old pan had a nice machined aluminum handle that was heat resistant. The new pan has a stamped sheet metal handle that gets quite hot. Unacceptable.
