About Copper Cookware
Copper develops a natural patina, or green/brown film, on the surface when exposed to moisture. Although this patina will not degrade the performance of the cookware, it will cause the exterior of the pan to lose its shine.
Caring for Your Copper Cookware
To remove the patina, and restore the copper's shine, use a cleaning product like Bar Keeper's Friend®. For your convenience, we've included a sample. Simply apply cleaner to a sponge and work in circular motions on the outside surface of the cookware. Rinse and dry completely before storing. To maintain a lustrous finish, polish the outside of your cookware using the method described above once a month. Another alternative is to apply a light coat of food grade mineral oil to the exterior, which must be washed off prior to cooking.

No-Boil-Over Insert Use and Care:
Bring a pot with water to a boil; then, add food and gently place the no-boil-over insert inside of the pot. Ensure that the rim of the insert is touching the rim of the pot on all sides. Only use insert with water, and do not overfill the pot or place lid on top of the insert, as this may cause the pan to boil over. Once boiling, it is normal for water to flow through the center opening, but it will not spill out of the pot. Wood or silicone stirring utensils can be used to stir food through the center of the insert. Do not leave a boiling pot unattended for an extended period. Never place the insert in the oven, directly on the stove top or any other hot surface. Once cooking is complete, immediately turn off stove top and wait until boiling stops. Remove the insert by pulling up on both tabs, and always use caution as hot water can get caught in the edge of the insert. Do not use the insert as a strainer; instead, remove the insert and replace with the straining lid. To wash insert, hand wash with a liquid dishwashing detergent and brush, or place in the top rack of the dishwasher. Use dishwashing detergent without bleach or citrus additives.
